Betty Stryszko

NORTHAMPTON - Betty A. (Reed) Stryszko, 73, of 26 Wright Ave., Northampton, died Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late George P. Reed and Lillian (Duplessis) Reed Lawson.

Educated in Northampton, she graduated from the former St. Michael's High School in 1952. Betty had worked for 20 years as a leader and clerk for Weight Watchers. She had also taken organ lessons at Falcetti Music up to a few months ago, starting in 1991. She was a devout member of St. Mary's Church in Northampton. Her faith and music were very important in her life.

She leaves her husband, Joseph Stryszko, whom she married on Aug. 2, 1951, in St. Mary's Church; her daughter, Mary Lou LaBarge, and her husband, Jeffry, of Northampton; three sons, Michael Stryszko, of Easthampton, Mark Stryszko and his wife, Fiona, of Hatfield, and Jody Stryszko, of Northampton; two brothers, David Reed, of Hatfield, and Robert Lawson, of Northampton; two sisters, Louise Pedruczny and Phyllis Ravish, both of Northampton; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her son Joseph Jr. and a sister, Helen Monska.

The funeral will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Drozdal Funeral Home, Northampton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, South Deerfield. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, P.O.
